Long-Range Correlations in Closed Shell Nuclei

چکیده

The effects of correlations on the bulk properties of nuclei are investigated in large model spaces including up to 21 single-particle orbits. The evaluation of the single-particle Green function is made feasible by means of the BAGEL approximation. The spectral function for single-nucleon pick-up and removal is investigated for the nuclei 16O and 40Ca. Special attention is paid to the effects produced by correlations on the calculated ground state properties of closed shell nuclei. It is observed that correlations beyond the Brueckner Hartree Fock approximation tend to improve the results obtained using realistic nucleon nucleon interactions.

The two-body momentum distribution η 2 (p 1 , p 2) of nuclei is studied. First, a compact analytical expression is derived for Z = N , ℓ-closed nuclei, within the context of the independent particle shell model. Application to the light closed-shell nucleus 16 O is included and discussed. Next, the effect of dynamical, short-range correlations is investigated in the case of the light nucleus 4 ...

The Effect of the Short-Range Correlations on the Generalized Momentum Distribution in Finite Nuclei

The effect of dynamical short-range correlations on the generalized momentum distribution n(~ p, ~ Q) in the case of Z = N , l-closed shell nuclei is investigated by introducing Jastrow-type correlations in the harmonic-oscillator model. First, a low order approximation is considered and applied to the nucleus 4He. Compact analytical expressions are derived and numerical results are presented f...

Self-consistent Description of Collective Excitations in the Unitary Correlation Operator Method

The fully self-consistent Random Phase Approximation (RPA) is constructed within the Unitary Correlation Operator Method (UCOM), which describes the dominant interaction-induced short-range central and tensor correlations by a unitary transformation. Based on the correlated Argonne V18 interaction, the RPA is employed in studies of multipole response in closed-shell nuclei across the nuclide ch...

Short - range Correlations in a CBF description of closed - shell nuclei . ∗

The Correlated Basis Function theory (CBF) provides a theoretical framework to treat on the same ground mean–field and short–range correlations. We present, in this report, some recent results obtained using the CBF to describe the ground state properties of finite nuclear systems. Furthermore we show some results for the excited state obtained with a simplified model based on the CBF theory

Effects of state dependent correlations on nucleon density and momentum distributions

The proton momentum and density distributions of closed shell nuclei are calculated with a model treating short–range correlations up to first order in the cluster 1 expansion. The validity of the model is verified by comparing the results obtained using purely scalar correlations with those produced by finite nuclei Fermi Hypernetted Chain calculations. State dependent correlations are used to...
